What Truffle keeps about you, and why.
What we keep
- Your email address when you sign in, and your name and profile picture too when you sign in with Google.
- Your lists and everything you add to them.
- Your country and language, which you can change in Settings.
- The IP address and browser of each device you’re signed in on, to keep your account safe. They’re deleted when you sign out, or after 60 days without use.
- With the browser extension: the address and content of pages you save with it, and of the pages of things saved on Truffle when you open them, as your browser shows them (which can include what a shop shows only you), and which browsers you connected it in. We read the product and its price from these pages and delete the pages themselves within two days.
- Your profile: the name and address you show, a line about you, who you follow and who follows you.
- Which profiles and shared lists people open, signed-in visitors by who they are, to count visits and suggest things they might like. Others see only how many visited.
- Where you came from when you started using Truffle, such as the site or someone’s shared list that brought you, to know what brings people.
- How Truffle is used, such as which pages are opened, so we can make it better. If you allow analytics cookies, we also recognise your browser when you come back, connect what you opened earlier to your account once you sign in, and may watch recordings of visits, with text and photos hidden.
Cookies
Cookies keep you signed in and remember your choices; analytics cookies are used only if you allow them.
Lists you share
Anyone with the link, or anyone at all if the list is public, sees the list, your name and photo, and your notes unless you hide them. Only people you invite to edit it see your target prices.
Why we may use it
To give you Truffle as you use it (your account, lists, emails and the extension); in our legitimate interest, to keep it safe, count visits and improve it; and with your consent, for analytics cookies, which you can withdraw on this page at any time.
Who else sees it
Google, when you sign in with it, and the services that host Truffle, tell people from bots, send its emails, catch errors and show how it’s used, each with only what it needs. Some of them are in the United States, covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the EU’s standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Everything stays until you delete it, except as said above. Usage data is kept only as long as it helps improve Truffle. Without an account, what you save is deleted 30 days after your last visit, or when you log out.
Your choices
You can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected or deleted, or limit or object to how we use it. Most of it you can change or delete yourself in the app, and your whole account in Settings. You can also complain to a data protection authority, in Czechia the ÚOOÚ.
Who runs Truffle
Truffle is run by Ondřej Veselý, IČO 05919134, Šmeralova 358/19, 170 00 Praha 7, Czech Republic, who is responsible for what it keeps about you.
